Software Installation Configuration.htm

Did you know the first thing you should do after buying a new computer is create a Recovery Disk? If yes, have you done it? How will you join your brand new laptop to your wireless network securely

From a single home user laptop to multiple networked servers, let the specialists configure your new computers or roll out your latest software upgrade. We can help you every step of the way:

through our consultancy services so you can make sure you are doing the right move before buying;

by deploying your new software solution;

by providing staff training on the new systems.

Servers

Servers by definition must be configured properly for clients (workstations) to access their resources. From files to printer sharing, you must make sure that only authorised computers and users have access to the shared resources (see also Security and Networking)

One of the advantages of running server software is to centralise data, however, this could well turn into your main weakness if it is not properly backed up (see Data Backup).

Although we are certified and specialised in Microsoft products, we also support other software especially for interoperability with Microsoft products (Apple, Linux, Unix, Cisco…). This allows to keep your old systems running alongside your new ones.

Licensing

Are you aware of the licensing requirements when using server software (eg: did you know you needed extra licenses for workstations connecting to a Windows Server 2003 computer?)
